Open spaces making the most of the height were the guidelines that marked the starting point of this project. Extent, with a timeless and contemporary ambiance, floods this 276 sq. m apartment done by ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea´s team, with all the needs of a young family in mind.
Entering the apartment can be observed a common social area formed by the dining and living rooms that enjoy privileged views towards the city. This space is outlined throughout by timber —in the form of a vertical “marimba”— that gives texture and connects the private area. Contrasting final touch at both ends of this zone are framed by white marble shelves and with the same material a niche was done to receive the dining credenza that connects, with another timber made of walnut wood, creating the access to the kitchen.
Neutral colors and textures dominate the whole place standing out the grey marble floors of the public area and the wood floors giving warmth in the intimacy of the bedrooms. The private areas are formed by the master bedroom and two secondary bedrooms all sharing the family room for which was designed a grand walnut wood furniture, with a dynamic set between natural and lacquered finishes, for the television. Also, noteworthy the natural oak engineering wood timber in the back of the sofa.
In the master bedroom the back wall is covered with navy blue and bronze lines wallpaper giving the space an elegant and sober character, complementing the finishes palette selected for this room. In the whole project the furniture is a blend of specially made for the apartment by architects José and Bernardo Lew and a selection of brand furniture creating an adequate balance of styles.
Technology also forms part of this project with a Lutron lighting control system, Sonos audio system and controlled motorized blinds to offer the maximum comfort for all the inhabitants.
